Ieperfest Winter 2013

Whoever feels nostalgic about the scene the way it used to be back in the days or blames his/her parents for being born too late, there is twice a year Ieperfest to turn to. In summer there is Ieperfest as an open air festival, in winter you can go nuts indoor.

Line-up

February 16 is the 5^th edition of the Ieperfest winter edition. Fabulous names on the flyer of this year are Alkerdeel (BE), Surge Of Fury (BE), Pay No Respect (UK), The Black Heart Rebellion (BE), Celeste (FR), Cheap Drugs (BE), King Hiss (BE), New Morality (NL), The Mountains Are Ghosts (BE), Knuckledust (UK) and Amen Ra (BE)

The legendary Belgian band Amen Ra is known for its eccentric live shows, creating strange and dark atmospheres on stage and leaving the crowd behind with many, many questions.

Ieperfest, the festival

Everything, and with this I mean every detail you can imagine, is D.I.Y. for the sake of keeping the spirit of the hardcore scene the way it used to be. Of course, we are not in the eighties anymore. But somehow Ieperfest comes pretty close to making you believe you are in the middle of the bruising golden ages. Just in a more modern way.

As many already know, Ieperfest is one of the lead festivals when it comes to green policy. 

Even your useless-no-taste-anymore-bubblegum is supposed to be recycled by sticking it to the bubblegum tree at the entrance of the festival.

Also the More Than Music room will be opened again. Here you can discuss politics or society’s finest failures or successes, watch documentaries and read zines. If you have some nice topics that you would like to see discussed on the festival, you can still send your personal request to the organization.

And last but not least: Forget about getting any meat dish here, because all food served is VEGAN.

French fries with veganaise and vegetable burgers are will conquer the stomachs.
